He’s still talking about how the whole “beating up Rihanna” thing was really hard on his reputation and that he’s actually a really nice guy. This morning he did that whole routine for the Mojo in the Morning radio show and he attempted to keep his shit relevant by relating himself to another bro we all hate right now, Tiger Woods.

Rihanna is featured in the February 2010 issue of W magazine, and she talks about her latest album, “Rated R” and opens up a little about how she’s recovering from her messy relationship with Chris Brown. She does not, sadly, offer an explanation for her Kate Gosselin-esque hair.
On the media circus following the assault, and her refusal to comment publicly at the time:
Looking back, she says she is proud of herself for remaining the quiet eye of the storm. “Not talking was a big thing for me,” says Rihanna, whose 13th tattoo, procured on Avenue B in New York’s East Village just the night before this interview, is visible, still raised and reddened, on the right side of her collarbone. It reads never a failure, always a lesson, but backward so she can read it when she looks in the mirror. “I’m glad I didn’t talk to people, because I was able to deal with things in my own way, without saying the wrong things or giving people the wrong impression.”
On how she coped afterward:
“I started to go crazy after about a month in the house,” she says of the time after her split from Brown, “so I went back to work, and the mic was my therapist. With the mic, there were no negative comments, no negative energy.”
“At first I completely shut down. But now I feel like this happened to me so I could be a voice for young girls who are going through what I went through and don’t know how to talk about it,” she says. “It’s not about Chris, about hurting him or sabotaging his career. I don’t care about that part of it.”
On her latest album, “Rated R”, which was inspired by the collapse of her relationship with Brown:
“This was a different type of record for me,” she says in her steady island lilt, sitting in a backstage dressing room after taping a BET show. “It was really personal; it was from me in the most authentic way. It’s like a movie”—hence the title—“in that when I was making this album, every day I was in a different mood. Sometimes I was pissed off, sometimes I was miserable, and every song brings out a different story.”
“It’s still hard to listen to certain songs,” she admits. “Certain ones I couldn’t even record—I’d keep pushing them back [on the schedule].” There was one track in particular she had a hard time facing. Called “The Last Song,” it has lyrics that read like the final goodbye to a great love. “When the label finally said we had 12 hours to turn in the album, I was like, Okay, I have to do it. I just drank some red wine, dimmed the lights, got in the booth and sang it.”
Rapper Lil’ Bow Wow was out and about on New Year’s Eve, tarnishing his sterling reputation by tweeting about driving drunk in his Lamborghini, although personally I think he did the most damage by admitting that he was spending time with Chris Brown.

I have to tell you, the older I get, the more passe drunk driving is. When we were younger, it was all like, “Yeah, I’m cool to drive, it’s no biggie, I’ll be fine.” Now that we’re all more aware of our mortality (and/or been hit with a DUI), driving drunk is far less common. Last night, everyone at the party either took a cab or had a designated driver. (I was the designated driver for my friends — try it sometime, they love you forever!) Days after using Twitter to call retail giant Walmart liars for “blackballing” his new album from their stores (which they aren’t), Chris Brown has made like Miley and quit the micro-blogging craze.
Brown’s Twitter home, @mechanicalDummy now “doesn’t exist,” leaving fans wondering: what happened to Chris?
On Friday, Brown lamented that “major stores” like Walmart “r blackballing my cd. not stockin the shelves and lying to costumers. what the f–k do i gotta do.” He quickly added, noting that his words would certainly be publicized and used against him: “yeah i said it and i aint retracting s–t. im not biting my tongue about s else…”
He went to a Walmart in Wallingford, CT, where they “didn’t even have my album in the back,” Brown said. “Not on shelves, saw for myself.”
Well, Walmart came out Monday to say that they are, in fact, carrying Brown’s album ‘Graffiti.’ At the Wallingford store.
“We are surprised at the comments online,” read a statement released by the store today. “All Walmart stores nationwide have carried the CD since its release, including the Wallingford, [Conn.], store mentioned in the post. This store actually sold through its initial shipment over the weekend. The majority of our stores today are showing they do have copies available.”

The preview for Chris Brown’s “Graffiti” came out today and man! Chris Brown has learned sooooooo much, you guys. It’s ridiculous what beating your famous girlfriend in a car in Hancock Park and then having to do like, forty hours of community service will do for a guy. He’s been “in the game” since he was 15 and then he was smacking around his girlfriend for a little bit and then he really figured out his life and now he’s back! He’s back with this faux-artsy music video with a documentary style intro.

The folks over at Good Morning America finally came to their senses and have scrapped Chris Brown’s scheduled performance. Over the weekend, Zelda Lily writer Sarah Spangenberg reported that the morning show had cancelled Adam Lambert’s appearance in response to his controversial American Music Awards performance. To fill the spot, GMA scheduled Chris Brown.
Now, they have given in to the public pressure and reversedthat decision. When will GMA learn what every Evil Beet writer has known forever? Have a stance and stick with it; it’s impossible to make everyone happy. In an act of compromise, Brown will appear on 20/20, minus the music and he won’t be allowed to plug his album. Robin Roberts and Chris filmed the in-depth interview over the weekend; it will air December 11th.
I’m not a fan of Chris Brown; I don’t think he’s expressed authentic remorse. Everything that comes out of his mouth sounds teleprompter-read or, at best, memorized from a script. So, for me, it’s more about action than words. If he wants to start regaining public favor, he can start by leaving that bow tie he wore on Larry King at home. That’s real progress in my world.
So, I know you all had pretty strong opinions on the whole Lambert vs Brown debate. Now that Brown has been moved to 20/20 without the performance aspect – he’ll probably get even more exposure than he would have in the morning — did ABC do the right thing?
